Füssen by Foot - The teal colored river of Lech
I feel like I'm in a fairy tale skipping (OK, maybe not skipping) along cobblestone paths and a bright teal colored river under crystal blue skies. On our walk in Füssen we stopped by St. Mang's Abbey and a Gothic castle (Hohe Schloss). Although I've been to this city many times, its much more enchanting in the bright sunlight. It is at the end of the Romantic Road and is only one kilometer from the Austrian border. I can't remember the last time I've seen this many days in a row with perfect weather. We went to a waterfall over the Lech River, then a fantastic lunch outside in the historic part of town with its many colorful wall and illusion paintings. The river gets its striking color from chalk in the water.
